Simply The Best

Our Moz has returned to the stage this weekend looking and sounding better than ever. He played two shows, Friday in Aberdeen and Saturday in Glasgow. It is so good to see him back and doing what he loves. You know Jacky's only happy when she's up on the stage! After all the controversy last fall and then the severe illness, I was worried maybe it was all over. We will certainly miss him when he's gone.

                                                                        Aberdeen

                                                             No fear of the World!

I saw some of the videos from both concerts and Our Moz is sounding better than ever. His voice is getting better with age. It's wonderful, as most singers vocals decline with age. There was some faux controversy in Glasgow when Mozza asked the crowd if they actually liked Nicola Sturgeon. Supposedly all these people walked out in protest. Of course this wasn't true. We all know about Journalists who lie. I didn't even know who Nicola Sturgeon was. The only sturgeon I knew of was the fish. I had to look it up to find out she is the First Minister of Scotland. The only person I know of from Scotland was Scotty from Star Trek. He really wasn't even Scottish.  I always liked him, hoping he could beam me out of this world to a better place, but that's another story.

                                                       A Sturgeon but not Nicola.

Once again, it's fantastic to see Morrissey back on tour doing what he loves, making music and thrilling all of his fans. Even though I can't be there in person, I am always there in spirit. I'm hoping this tour is the best ever for Our Moz and the band.

Touch-And-Go

Sing praise for statuary:
For those anchored attitudes
And staunch stone eyes that stare
Through lichen-lid and passing bird-foot
At some steadfast mark
Beyond the inconstant green
Gallop and flick of light
In this precarious park

Where vivid children twirl
Like colored tops through time
Nor stop to understand
How all their play is touch-and-go:
But, Go! they cry, and the swing
Arcs up to the tall tree tip;
Go! and the merry-go-round
Hauls them round with it.

And I, like the children, caught
In the mortal active verb,
Let my transient eye break a tear
For each quick, flaring game
Of child, leaf and cloud,
While on this same fugue, unmoved,
Those stonier eyes look,
Safe-socketed in rock.
