Steve Strange went from being lead singer of Visage and fame in the 80's to being arrested for shoplifting in the 90's.  A sad tale of going from wealth and fame to having nothing.

Heroin addiction, a nervous breakdown and finally shoplifting were a culmination of the mournful fall from grace.  Steve Strange died on February 12, 2015 at age 55.  RIP.

Addendum

In early 2013, Steve Strange organized a new version of Visage.  They released a new album "Hearts and Knives" in May of 2013.  They also did some live dates in support of this album.  Steve had been in the process of getting his life back together for years and had turned the corner.  His passing after coming back from his fall, makes this epilogue quite sorrowful.  Life is indeed a Pigsty.  Thanks George for adding your comment to enhance the story.
