Louder Than Words

I don't listen to the radio much these days as there is very little music of interest that is played on the corporate stations.  I had the local AOR station on for a few minutes.  A song came on I had never heard before.  It immediately got my attention.  It was a majestic, ethereal sounding song.  I thought this must be Pink Floyd with David Gilmour on vocals.  I got home and did a little research.  Pink Floyd has just released an album "The Endless River".  Apparently it is a tribute to the late keyboardist, Richard Wright.  The song that caught my attention is called "Louder Than Words", it is the only song with vocals on the album.  The video for the song is also very well done.

I've been listening to World Peace Is None Of Your Business quite a bit lately.  I have always thought it was a very good album.  After more listens, I think it is a masterpiece.  From beginning to end the songs are so strong.  The marvelous lyrics along with stunning music, shows the true genius of Morrissey.  The song that has caught my attention lately for some reason is "Mountjoy".  Mountjoy is a prison in Dublin also known as "The Joy".  The lyrics are sad and haunting.  It seems to me to perfectly sum up life in a prison or in someones life who feels imprisoned.

I saw this lovely picture on twitter today.  I had to save it so I could look at it occasionally to remind me of summer.

                                                                A lovely county road

Seeing the picture of the country road then reminded me of the song "Country Road"  by James Taylor.  The performance is with the magnificent Carole King at The Troubadour in Los Angeles.
Its a beautiful song.
